WHY RECYCLE DROSS
Dross, a waste by-
THE PROCESS
Dross is delivered to the plant from the smelter and transported to a crusher where it is broken down. Wet dross from the smelter’s landfill is first dried and then put through a separation process; metal is returned to the smelter and the rest is stored to be used to make fertilizer.
The depleted dross is separated by mechanical means and what remains is a high grade mineral, known as Aluminum Oxide. The extracted metal is then processed even further in a specialized furnace to ensure that the client receives the highest possible return.
The Aluminum oxide is then converted into various products but it is mainly used in the manufacture of mineral fertilizer internationally approved and certified in Germany and the European Union. The staff will also regularly test and analyze fertilizer blends to create custom product to suit individual crops and locations.
In Bahrain, Taha is operating a recycling plant for its clients Gulf Aluminum Rolling
Mills (GARMCO) for the processing of all their Dross and is in the process of building
